How to Get Rid of Post Holiday Bloat, Fast !!!

09.08.15Miscellaneous0

Let me guess… you over indulged at that Labor Day BBQ, right?! Maybe you had one too many cold ones? One more cheeseburger than you could really handle? Either way, life is way too short not to enjoy yummy food and drinks every here and there, but now you’re paying for it. Your tummy is probably bloated and full, don’t you just hate that feeling?! I found an awesome 24 hour bloat-be-gone recipe that I think you guys might like and some of you can really benefit from 😉 So follow me and find out how to flatten that puffy tummy!

-9 pm the night before:

Sip a cup of warm water with 2 tbsp. Natural Calm magnesium *or any magnesium brand* supplement powder mixed in. You can also try mixing Natural Calm with an herbal tea. This will get your digestive system moving and help clear out all that Labor Day goodness. *If you tend to get bloated and gassy a lot in general, a mug of this stuff at night may help. You may also want to see your doctor or a gastroenterologist to rule out things like irritable bowl syndrome.*

-7 am :

bed-stretch
Get moving even before you get out of bed with stretches that will relax your tummy and keep
your digestive system on track. Lie on your back and bring both knees to your chest, hold there for a while. Then keep your knees together and twist your legs from side to side.
-7:30 am:

Sip an 8 oz. glass of water with half of a lemon squeezed into it. Water fights constipation and
flushes excess bloat-inducing sodium out of your body, and lemon acts as a natural digestive aid and diuretic. Make sure you continue to drink water throughout the day. Aim for half of your body weight in ounces; for example, if you weigh 150 lbs., drink around 75 oz. of water. Just don’t sip through a straw—doing so can increase the air in your stomach, causing it to pooch out a bit. I will no longer be using straws, WHO KNEW?!
-8 am:

Have a smoothie rich in protein. A liquid breakfast will be easier on your digestive system and the goal today is to be super easy on your tum. Try adding pineapple or papaya, both are high in digestive enzymes that help with digestion. To make sure you are getting enough protein try having 6 grams at every meal- try blending in soy milk or a handful of hemp seeds. Raw cacao powder is a natural metabolism booster and can be a great addition!
– 10 am mid-morning snack:

Have some Greek yogurt with berries for a mid-morning snack. *YUM* The protein in Greek yogurt will keep you feeling satisfied, while the probiotics give your digestive system a boost. Berries are a low-calorie way to get an extra dose of gentle fiber.
-12 pm lunchie:

Ditch the usual sandwich or crispy raw salad. Go for a grilled veggie salad, cooked veggies are much easier to digest than raw ones. Or you can do a turkey or veggie burger with steamed veggies on the side, but don’t forget to skip on the bun! Try to avoid broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, or brussel sprouts as these are all gas causing veggies. *NO BUENO*
– 2 pm afternoon snack:

When energy levels start to go down, reach for a Kombucha shot and a handful of almonds. The almonds will satisfy your hunger and the kombucha has enzymes and probiotics that give the body a natural energy boost!  *Kombucha shots can be found at WholeFoods*
-6-7 pm din din:

Eat a bowl of pureed vegetable soup to prevent yourself from becoming overly hungry and possibly overeating later. *You should also sprinkle in some hemp seeds for a little protein* Soup is easy to digest, and its high water content will keep your system moving and leave you feeling satisfied. Make sure to stay away from regular canned soups, which contain too much bloat-inducing salt. *It’s crazy how much salt is in those canned foods!*
There you go! 24 Hour bloat blaster that is sure to have you feeling all types of wonderful! You’re welcome 😉
