This week The Blogery is proud to introduce you to Charles Taheri, also known by his rap persona as, ::Skeezy::. Skeezy, is a local underground rapper from Stamford, CT. His current career objective is to network, while building his brand. He has a consistent and reliable presence online and maintains his position on top of Connecticut’s rap scene with his unique content and talent. During his rap career he has released two albums independently via iTunes, with the goal of one day signing to a major record label.
From a young age, Skeezy was heavily influenced by artists such as Jay-z, Biggie and 50 cent. When I asked Skeezy what made him aspire to become a rapper, his answer was deep rooted in his experiences from growing up. “Growing up on Fairfield Court, when the housing buildings were still around… all the older dudes from the neighborhood used to rap. I was very influenced by them. Seeing them hustle and also seeing my mom take care of us, but trust me, it wasn’t always good. I started to write all my thoughts down and that was the start of something.” Sometimes the greatest things come from a place of pain, the good/bad and the ugly is what molds us into the people we are today.
“My music is about my life, my friends lives and the things we go through out here being misunderstood and not taking advantage of certain situations, so we feel lost and stuck. I just want ya’ll to understand my actions and the place that I am coming from” -Skeezy
Just remember, you heard it here first on The Blogery! With that being said, you’re definitely going to want to check out Skeezy’s latest music video “Streets”
“I represent the east coast and what sets me apart from the rest is that I sound like where I’m from and I act like where I’m from. Most dudes out here chase the hit records, while I’m making music that will be timeless even when I’m dead and gone” -Skeezy
